Late Spring Comings & Goings

First the Goings

It takes a lot to get me to leave Maine this time of year, expecially when so much is just about to burst forth. But I am off tomorrow to travel to Austin, TX for the International Association of Yoga Therapists Synposium. I am thrilled to reonnect with friends and teachers, such as Judith Hanson Lasater, Amy Weintraub, Gary Kraftsow, Vasant Lad and Richard MIller, to deepen the exploration and expand the dialogue around this emerging field. While I am away, the studio will be closed from June 4th-June 11th. Classes resume Thursday, June 12th at 9AM. I am sure there will be lots of inspiration to share when I return!

More to Come!

Two classes with be added to the summer schedule. Emily Bonis will be back Monday evenings 6-7:15pm. Her core strength vinyasa class will begin Jun 16th and run for 10 weeks until August 18th. The class encourages you to connect with your center by building poses from the ground up. Through a progression that begins with a stable foundation, moves through the support of the core, and finds individual expression, we can build inner strength and flexibility. Inspired by the teachings of Sadie Nardini, Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga gives you the tools to move through a vinyasa style class with stability, strength, and ease, using your core, both physically and symbolically,  as the basis for support. Come explore your inner strength! Although this is an intermediate level class, modifications are offered for all levels.

I will be adding a Gentle/Chair Yoga class Wednesdays at 9AM beginning July 2nd until August 13th. This class is appropriate for all levels of yoga practitioners, from complete beginners to those with a longtime practice. We will move slowly and intentionally through poses, focusing on therapeutic applications including strengthening and stretching different muscle groups, exploring meditation modalities, and practicing healing and energizing pranayama and mudras. Chairs are available for sitting or helping to balance in standing poses. A mindful, lighthearted sense of loving awareness will be cultivated. Modifications will be offered based on injury or chronic illness, but it is always wise to check with your doctor first.

Both classes are available drop-in or with a discount multi-class pass.

I will continue teaching All-level Kripalu Yoga classes Thursday, Friday & Saturday mornings at 9AM.

See you in the studio soon!

Hoping the poppies wait for my return to pop.

Namaste,

Wendy
